Zsóry Thermal and Beach Bath (Walking distance from the hotel)

Hadas District – The Living Open Air Museum (Mezőkövesd)

The old town of Mezőkövesd is a real journey through time. Walking through the winding streets, we can admire 100-150 year old country houses preserved in their original condition. The buildings now function as art houses, where we can get a glimpse into the daily work of potters, furniture painters, gingerbread makers and weavers.

Matyó Museum (center of Mezőkövesd)

It presents the most beautiful pieces of Matyó folk art, which is part of UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage. At the exhibition, we can admire the famous “hundred-rose” embroideries, the colorful folk costumes, and learn about the history and traditions of the Matyó people.

Kisjankó Wine Memorial House (Mezőkövesd)

Bori Kisjankó, known as the “writer of a hundred roses”, was one of the most famous figures of matyó embroidery. Her former residence now functions as a museum, where visitors can see her original furniture, personal belongings and wonderful pattern drawings.

Hajdu Ráfis János Agricultural Machinery Museum (Mezőkövesd)

A unique collection, famous in Europe! The museum displays agricultural machinery from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, rare tractors, steam engines and everyday objects from the old peasant life. A fascinating program for both mechanics and families.

Bogács Wine Cellar Row and Lookout Tower (Bogács – 11 km)

One of the most atmospheric wine regions of Bükkalja. In the wine cellars carved into the rhyolite tuff, local winemakers offer excellent wines (e.g. Bükkaljai Cserszegi fűszeres). It is also worth walking up to the Millennium Lookout, from which you can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the countryside.

Cave Dwellings and Beehive Stones (Cserépfalu / Szomolya – 15 km)

A special natural and historical tour! The “Little American” cave dwellings carved into volcanic tuff, typical of Bükkalja, offer a fascinating sight. The origin of the Kaptárkövek (small niches carved into rocks) found in nearby Szomolya remains an exciting mystery for researchers to this day.

De la Motte Castle (Noszvaj – 17 km)

One of the most beautiful miniature jewel boxes of Hungarian Baroque and Coif castle architecture. The building’s illusionistic murals and period-accurate, aristocratic furnishings are guaranteed to enchant history lovers.

Tisza Lake Ecocenter (Poroszló – 20 km)

A perfect half-day trip for nature lovers. Home to Europe’s largest freshwater aquarium system, where you can see the unique flora and fauna of Lake Tisza up close. The center also features a 3D cinema, an observation tower, and boat tours.
